Beginners Needle punch Embroidery workshop Saturday 25 April 2020, 10:30am till 1pm.
Needle punch or punch needle, is a modern take on a traditional craft which was originally centred around making rugs. Now the technique is used to make a whole range of different modern textile items including wall hangings, cushion covers and bags.
This workshop is great for beginners as you will be taught how to use the needle and create different textures. Attendees will create their own punch needle hoop wall hanging.
You can choose from one of Sara’s designs or come with an idea of your own – nothing too detailed.
All materials will be provided and there will be yarn available for you to take away if you don't finish your project.
As one in a small group you will have lots of Sara's time and attention to make it just right ready to hang up, pride of place at home.
Tickets for 25th of July 10:30am till 1pm are booked in advance on the link below:
PARKING: Crispin Hall doesn't have its own parking, the cheapest pay and display car park is 5 minutes walk away, and costs £3.10 for up to 9 hours. The post code is: BA16 0JX
A Little bit more about Sara:
Hi, I'm Sara, a Bristol based punch needle artist and instructor and owner of Whole Punching.
After becoming addicted to punch needle a couple of years ago I thought it was only fair to share the punch needle love with other budding enthusiasts in the UK! Punch needle is steadily growing in popularity outside of the United States and good quality materials can be difficult to source. I want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy punch needle so I set up my business to enable this through selling supplies, running workshops and creating bespoke pieces.
Punch needle, for me, is much more than just another hobby, it gives me an immediate sense of calm and has improved my wellbeing enormously.
I have spent a lot of time researching and testing different punch needle materials and techniques (great excuse for buying yarn!) so that I can provide excellent materials and run friendly, relaxed workshops. Whether you purchase punch needle supplies, a Whole Punching kit or attend a workshop you receive the same high quality materials, help and guidance.
I love to create new punch needle designs and find it fascinating how flexible the craft is. There are no limits to the different applications for punch needle embroidery, from cushions, wall hangings and bags to plant pot covers and bath mats. I am in my element when creating bespoke designs that fit perfectly in your home.
